Preschool Program Goals

In our preschool program, we aim to help children ages 3 and 4 develop important skills for school and life.

  • Learn basic manners: saying “please,” “thank you,” and “excuse me.”
  • Learn to ask for help or express needs
  • Recognize and write your name.
  • Identify letters and sounds in English and Spanish.
  • Recognize and count numbers up to at least 20.
  • Know colors and shapes in both languages.
  • Participate in songs, rhymes, and movement games.
  • Develop fine motor skills with activities such as cutting, gluing, beading, and drawing.
  • Learn to follow two- and three-step instructions.
  • Encourage socialization: sharing, teamwork, taking turns.
  • Develop creativity and imagination through dramatic play, art and music.
  • Get started in science and nature with hands-on activities (planting seeds, observing insects, experimenting with water and sand).
  • Develop gross motor skills: running, jumping, hopping, climbing.
  • Reading circle in English and Spanish.
  • Sing songs and learn short poems.
  • Simple science experiments (water, ice, plants).
  • Crafts with paint, paper and recycled materials.
  • Role-playing games (market, doctor, family).
  • Board games to learn turns and rules.
  • Walks in the park to explore nature.
